A Petition to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Berkeley To Uphold the Landmark Designation of Berkeley Iceland

We, the undersigned supporters of the special community center which is Berkeley Iceland, call on the City Council to once again uphold the decision of the City of Berkeley Landmark Preservation Commission designating Berkeley Iceland a Berkeley Landmark. After hours of testimony, including extended sessions requested by the current owners, the LPC found evidence that Berkeley Iceland meets multiple criteria for the designation, which was passed without a single vote in opposition. The LPC's action was, and should once again be, upheld by the City Council.
